ZOUK NIGHTCLUB - Singapore - 2005/2006
Zouk located at 17 Jiak Kim Street in Singapore is the brainchild of
night club entrepreneur Lincoln Cheng, built in an ancient blessed
warehouse that stands next to the Singapore River. Zouk has been an icon
in Asia’s music industry for the past 15 years. This past October the club
closed for a one month major refit. Everything was gutted from the space
and rebuilt. New decor, lighting & sound was installed. After the refit
Zouk reopened to celebrate its 15th year anniversary. Owner and CEO
Lincoln Cheng spent one year searching for a new sound system that would
be correct for his club & patrons with that in mind he auditioned many out
of the box popular sound systems on the market today but after hearing
them all he chose to use GSA. more >

SOUND PLANET - Kiev, Ukraine -
2005
Sound Planet located at 18/24 Dmitrievska Street in Kiev, is the first
nightclub of it’s kind in Eastern Europe. It was created to introduce an
alternative in entertainment to this area, with the infusion of R&B and
Hip Hop on Friday nights and Underground Dance music better known as Deep
Soulful House on Saturday nights. Following in the footsteps of such
legendary nightclubs as the Ministry of Sound (London) and Studio 54
(NYC), Sound Planet presents a sound and light system that will make you
seem as if you have arrived in a new world, enabling its patrons to
experience the atmosphere which made these other clubs so famous, in
addition to bringing the best in new music. The Sound Planet sound system
was created by Gary Stewart Audio (GSA) and equals or surpasses their
other incredible systems around the world. more >

LOVE - 8th Street New York, New York - 2004
Sound is at the core of every memorable nightclub that ever was. We can
still feel Studio 54 and Paradise Garage in our bones. In fact, that was
the inspiration for our new project, Love, in NYC.
It all started with the owner’s desire to give back to NYC something he
feels the city once had and now has lost: a groove. A fully analog system
with amplified speaker stacks on the floor and flown tweeter arrays,
combined with a motorized DJ console and custom SME tone arms on the
turntables, are a few of the elements that make up the system that will
deliver that groove that
the world-class DJs are going to be sending to the NYC crowds night after
night at Love. more >

Garage Underground - Tampa, FL - 2000
The Garage Nightclub in Tampa, Florida is GSA’s most recent nightclub
installation. This sound system is unique to GSA’s previous installs in
that their new speakers, console and electronics premiered here. The
system consists of a newly designed GSA Speaker Series; including Coax
Full Range, Sub Bass and Hi Output Tweeter Arrays.
Garage’s main room is 5538 square feet containing a 3198 square foot dance
floor. Sixteen active Full Range Coax Line Arrays hang in pairs around the
perimeter of the dance floor, which are balanced by four GSA V-8 Sub Bass
speakers and 4 GSA Tweeter Arrays. The unique design of the speaker box
combined with the tactical placement of coaxial drivers create a clean and
well-defined sound that travels through the dance floor with maximum
clarity and power.
The new GSA V-8 sub bass speakers contain eight 18” drivers that are
strategically placed to push the deep bass sounds through the air, floor
and bones of the people dancing within the boundaries of the dance floor;
allowing people to actually feel the music. The combination of the clarity
of the “hi’s & mid’s” with the powerful throb of the sub bass creates an
element of sound that can be enjoyed as long and loud as desired. Every
tone is recognized by your ears and thus does not create the strain that
normally occurs when trying to differentiate between tonalities. It was
for this very reason that Garage owner, Gary Allen, chose GSA to design
and build his new sound system; but not before flying to New York to hear
the speakers for himself. more >

Paradise - Asbury Park, NJ - 1999 Capacity: 1,500
Shep Pettibone's premiere nightclub. This club has four GSA-designed
speaker stacks, digital speaker management system (built by BSS Audio) and
four GSA tweeter arrays. The system is powered by 11 Crown Macro Tech
Amplifiers totaling 20,000 watts.
Mr. Pettibone called upon GSA to design his club's system based on the
old-style sound of club's from the early 80's era (i.e. Paradise Garage,
Studio 54, Zanzibar, etc.). With the new technology of digital audio GSA
was able to design a system that emanated and improved upon the sound
system of yesteryear.

Sound Factory '97 - New York, NY - 1997 Capacity: 2,500
Sound Factory is one of GSA's most powerful night club installations, with
more than 70,000 watts of amplification powering four GSA stacks and four
GSA flown speaker arrays and four GSA tweeter arrays. The installation
includes a complete DJ booth with a three turntable console, monitors with
sub-bass, CDs, cassette and DAT tapes and custom designed mixer and
control crossover, along with a computer controlled digital speaker
management system and four graphic equalizers.

Roxy - New York, NY - 1996-2002 Capacity: 4,000 People.
Roxy is one of GSA's larger installations, including 10 GSA speaker
stacks, sub-bass and tweeter arrays, and a complete DJ booth with
multi-zone linking, digital speaker management system, live mixing board,
five equalizers and motorized consoles and custom monitors. Amplification
is provided by 25 high-power amplifiers. The largest GSA sound system
installed in the world.

Ministry of Sound - London, England - 1996 Capacity: 3,500
GSA designed and installed the entire system in this renowned night club
in 1992 and upgraded it in '96. The system is widely regarded as being the
world-wide benchmark by which all other night clubs are measured. Sound is
provided by six huge custom-designed GSA speaker stacks capable of
producing sound up to 160 decibels (a jet engine produces 140 decibels at
a distance of 100 feet).
Sound and Video Contractor said in April, 1997: "London's world
renowned night club, Ministry of Sound, is certainly no exception in the
trendsetter department. The often emulated super club recently underwent a
major overhaul of its main room furthering Ministry's worldwide status as
a benchmark in the entertainment industry." Nodd McDonagh, General Manager
of Ministry of Sound, begins, "When we decided to move forward with the
new project it was apparent that our system was wrapped in such cloaks of
mystery it was difficult for us to determine what was legend and what was
fact. Between our technical audio team and GSA, the firm that had designed
and installed the original system, we dramatically improved the overall
audio quality and reliability of the system."
